Base1 Care · for physicians
Physician-ordered lab testing for Texas, with video consultations. Your practice orders, reviews and owns every result; Base1 handles the website, the patients, the paperwork and the coaching — so your time goes on the part only you can do.
Who does what
Texas does not allow a company owned by a non-physician to practise medicine, so the two are separate by law. That separation is also what protects you: the business side has no way, in the software or in the contract, to touch a clinical decision.
What is already built
Each lab request comes with the patient's details, medicines, biotin use and reason for testing, plus a block to copy straight into PatientNow.
Requests to approve, orders to place in PatientNow, results to release, consultations to book — each in its own list, oldest first.
You attach the results, record normal, abnormal or critical, and release them. Abnormal results require a note to the patient.
A critical result cannot be released until you confirm you have spoken to the patient directly. The software will not let it through otherwise.
Every consent stored with a fingerprint of the exact text the patient read. Every record you open, and every result a patient downloads, is logged.
Patients can request a consultation, about their results or anything else. You book it in your own video tool and the patient sees the time and link.

The three questions that matter
Per lab patient: approve the request, place it in PatientNow, and review and release the results — minutes for a normal panel. Consultations only when a patient books one. Ordering, payment, support and paperwork are handled, and several physicians can share the load.
The practice bills patients for care and keeps that revenue. Base1 is paid by the practice for the software and services it provides, at fair market value set with healthcare counsel. Counsel generally advises against a percentage of the practice's revenue in Texas, because of fee-splitting rules — the structure is chosen to protect your licence.
Lower than prescribing. The duty that matters is following up every result you order, including a critical value — which the software is built to make impossible to miss. Your malpractice cover needs to include telehealth, and the arrangement with Base1 needs to be set up properly — which is what the attorney is for.
